My college life

March 28th, 2010

I still remember as if it was just yesterday. 5th July 2003- my first day at college. It was a great transition for me and I was very nervous. My class consisted of about 70 students. I had no idea what to do or where to start. Slowly as days passed by, I started making new friends and along with time our friendship grew stronger. We shared our personal stories, our joys and our sorrows. Everyone was there for anyone who needed help. We made sure no one felt that he/she was left alone. When the day came for all of us to say good-bye to one another, it was with heavy hearts that we bid farewell. Yet the memories of those days still remain evergreen.

The Da Vinci code

March 24th, 2010

The last interesting novel I read was Da vinci’s code by Dan Brown. I really liked the way the suspense is carried on till the end. It brings in a splendid way of revealing a historical mystery through an action and adventurous story. The information provided seems so accurate and realistic that one cannot be left unaffected by the revelation. The clues provided in the story are very intriguing. The novel was far better than the movie. The concept is very controversial which makes the story even more interesting. It is definite to spark interest in curious minds to do their own research regarding this matter to satisfy their interests.

I actually have a very long list of foods that I like to have, but I would try to restrict myself to the choicest ones. For breakfast I would like to have sandwiches, pasta, noodles or egg-toasts, and end it up with a large glass of freshly prepared fruit juice. I love heavy lunch followed by something sweet. Evening snacks is a must. It usually includes cookies, potato chips, fried corn, cheese pizza, chicken wings at KFC or chicken burger with a cup of cold coke at Mac Donald’s. I enjoy cooking and I love eating anything new that I come up with.

One day in my life

March 18th, 2010

I maintain a tight schedule which often leaves me with very little time for myself. It starts at 6.00 am in morning with getting up from bed, taking a shower and going out for an early morning walk. I return from my walk by 7.00. I then get ready for work and leave home by 7.30. Travelling by bus is an ordeal in itself. I reach office by 9.00. Work goes on till 12.30 after which I and my friends go on our lunch break. I return to work by 1.45, take a little nap and resume back to work by 2.00. I leave office by 6.00 or 6.30 depending upon work load. Switching two buses, I make it to my home by 8.30 or 9.00. I then relax for 10-15 min watching T.V, followed by dinner and then I’m off to sleep.

My rendezvous with Jesus Christ

March 14th, 2010

If I were given a chance to meet a person of the past, I would surely like to meet Jesus Christ, not for religious enlightenment, but as a historical legendary person. I would like to understand his concept of the meaning of life, his passion for the people, his courage to endure a humiliating and gruesome death, the purpose of existence, the mysteries surrounding his life and death, and so on. It has been centuries since the establishment of Christianity, yet so many questions remains unanswered. The best person to answer all these would be one whom all these events are based upon.

Lecturer at New Horizon Pre-University College

March 12th, 2010

A lecturer at New Horizon pre-university college: this was the longest and my first job which I landed in soon after my post graduation. Working here had always been a pleasurable experience for me. The staff was great and always co-operative, always ready to help you out in anyway possible. The students too were very enthusiastic. Their interest in acquiring knowledge beyond the curriculum always inspired me to provide to them much more and kept me updated with the current scientific improvements. It would be unmistakable to say that I learned from them much more than what I provided to them.

Backstreet boys-Live in Bangalore

March 9th, 2010

One of the coolest events that I attended lately was the live performance of Backstreet boys in Bangalore at Palace grounds. The band was just awesome. When the performed their signature song “Everybody, rock your body…” the fans went berserk. The crowd was amazing. It was great to see people coming down from neighboring states to attend the event. I enjoyed every bit of the music. Their performance was preceded by that of Richard Marx. His music was so captivating that I did not realize how time passed by. Other bands like Swarathma, five little Indians and prime circle were also exhibited wonderful performance. It was an evening to remember.

The holy land of Jerusalem

I would undoubtedly want to travel to the holy city of Jerusalem, if provided a chance. It carries within it such great heritage and history, that it cannot be explained by mere words for the mind to comprehend the real essence of it. I would like to visit all historic places associated with the life and death of Jesus Christ in that city. The garden of Gethsemane: where Christ prayed on the night of his betrayal, the house where he celebrated his last supper, the city streets through which he was led during his crucifixion and ultimately, Mount Calvary, where he was crucified. All these places are contained with the essence of Christ-one of the most influential legend in history.
